terms & conditions
These terms cover your use of the Making a Home app, website, and member library (the “services”), owned and operated by Gathered Home & Kin (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying a membership, or using the services, you agree to them. If that doesn't work for you, please don't use the services.
the short version
- You're buying access to digital home-management templates — $47 a year or $87 for life.
- They're for your own household. Please don't share, resell, or repost the files.
- All sales are final, because digital files can't be returned. Cancellations and upgrades are explained below.
What you're getting
A Making a Home membership unlocks the member library: the Core template systems, Additional Collections, binder covers, spines and tabs, printables and cards, The Home Audit, and the personal home plan you save in the app.
Everything is delivered digitally — PDFs to print at home, plus editable Canva links you can change to fit your household. You'll need your own free Canva account to open and edit the Canva links.
Memberships, pricing & renewal
Annual: $47 USD per year. It renews automatically each year until you cancel.
Lifetime: $87 USD, paid once. No further payments, ever.
Discount code LAUNCH10 takes $10 off any plan. On an Annual membership it comes off the first year only.
Prices can change. If the price of your plan changes, we'll tell you before that change applies to your next renewal, so you can decide whether to stay.
Payment
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Depending on your bank, charges may appear on your statement as "LINK.COM*" followed by our business name.
An Annual membership bills automatically on the anniversary of the date you joined.
Canceling, upgrading & expiring
Cancel anytime: your Annual access stays open through the end of the year you already paid for, then it simply stops and you are not billed again.
Upgrade: if you're an Annual member you can move to Lifetime for $87. Your Annual renewal stops automatically the moment the upgrade is paid, so you're never paying for both.
Access we grant you ourselves (invited members, complimentary access) follows the terms of that invitation.
Refunds — all sales final
Every item in the library is a digital file delivered the second you join, and digital files can't be returned — so all sales are final and we don't offer refunds.
If something genuinely went wrong — you were charged twice, a file won't open, a payment went through by mistake — email us within 7 days of the charge and we'll make it right.
If a payment is reversed through your bank (a dispute or chargeback), your membership access is removed immediately while the dispute is reviewed.
Your license — what you may and may not do
Your membership gives you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use the templates for your own household.
- You may print and use the files in your own home, edit them in Canva for your own home, and keep personal backups.
- You may share printed pages with the family who live with you.
- You may not resell, give away, or redistribute the digital files or Canva links.
- You may not upload them to any website, group, marketplace, shared drive, or file-sharing service.
- You may not share your login or your access with anyone outside your household.
- You may not use the files commercially — including printing them for clients or bundling them into a paid service — without our written permission.
- You may not remove our branding, claim the designs as your own, or use the files to train an AI system.
Your account
You agree to give us accurate information, keep your password safe, and accept responsibility for what happens under your account.
One account per person, please. If you think someone else has your password, change it from your account page and email us.
You can close your account any time by emailing us; access ends when we confirm the closure.
The Home Audit
The Home Audit is a self-guided reflection tool: it reads your answers and suggests which templates are most likely to help you first.
It is not professional advice — not legal, financial, medical, therapeutic, or child-development advice — and its results are suggestions, not recommendations. Use your own judgment about what your home and family actually need.
Respect the service
Please don't copy or scrape the library, use bots or automated tools to pull content, interfere with how the app works, look for security weaknesses, use the service for anything unlawful, or resell access to it.
Third-party services
We lean on a few other companies to run things: Stripe (payments), Canva (editable templates), Drry (email), Wix (our main website), and Google (web fonts).
Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of them is governed by them. We aren't responsible for how they behave or how long they stay available.
Changes to the library
We can add, update, reorganize, or retire templates and features over time.
We won't remove something you paid for without telling you, and where we can we'll offer a substitute in its place.
No warranty & limits on our responsibility
The service and the files are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
We aren't responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss that comes from using the templates. If we do owe you something under these terms, the most we'd owe is the amount you paid for your membership.
Some places don't allow these limits or exclusions, so they may not apply to you in full.
Ending access
We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken — for example if files or logins are shared. Ending access for a violation doesn't create a refund right.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the "last updated" date below changes, and for meaningful changes we'll email you or point it out in the app.
Using the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
Nothing here is meant to limit rights you can't waive by law.
How to reach us
Questions about a charge, your access, or anything else: email us any time. We'd rather hear from you than have you frustrated.
